MUIC Ajarns Present Bangkok Noi Research Projects

Several faculty members of Mahidol University International College (MUIC) gave presentations on their research projects focused on the Bangkok Noi community on September 6, 2023 at the Seminar Room, MUIC Building 1.

Under the “Dean’s Invitation” program, the lecturers whose works were conducted under the auspices of the Research Promotion and Management Section, described in their respective presentations the research projects that they have done for the Bangkok Noi community—from organizing a walking tour, making an integrated media presentation, conducting an adventure game for students, teaching photography to students and exhibiting their output, to conducting a survey of the community and its residents.

Prof. Chulathida Chomchai, MD, MUIC Dean, lauded the researchers’ efforts by describing it as “venturing into new territory and forging partnerships In order to contribute positively to society.” The Bangkok Noi project is in collaboration with Siriraj Hospital.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chanida Hansawasdi, Associate Dean for Research and Academic Services, noted that “It’s great to be in a big gathering of ajarns who have joined the Bangkok Noi project and have served the constituents of the Bangkok Noi community.”

The projects and their proponents are as follows:

Project 1: 

Project name: “Young People. Big Voices. Bangkok Noi.”
Researchers: Asst. Prof. Dale Alan Konstanz and Dr. Matthew Robert Ferguson

Project 2

Project name: Preliminary Steps to Developing “A Walking Cultural Tour of Thonburi, Wat Suwannaram Area”
Researcher: Asst. Prof. Dr. Analiza Liezl P. Amurao
Project name: “Pop-Up Adventure Play”
Researcher: Mrs. Agnieszka Atthasit

Project 3

Project name: “Revitalizing Bangkok Noi  Community (Siriraj District) Using Integrated Media”
Researcher: Asst. Prof. Dr. Wankwan Polachan

Project 4: 

Project name: “A Bangkok Noi Place and People (Stage 1)”
Researchers: Dr. Pattarachit Gozzoli and Asst. Prof. Dr. Roberto Bruno Gozzoli
Several executives and faculty members attended the event.
