At MUIC, we believe every student should have the opportunity to live and study in another part of the world throughout their undergraduate journey. With exchange partnerships at more than 140 universities across 27 countries, Mahidol University International College (MUIC) offers students opportunities to study, explore, and grow by experiencing different academic environments, cultures, and ways of life around the world.
MUIC's liberal arts curriculum gives students the flexibility to make study abroad part of their undergraduate journey. Students may take equivalent courses for their major while also using I-Design electives to explore subjects beyond their field of study, including courses that are beyond MUIC curriculum. Exchange provides an opportunity to expand both academic knowledge and learning experiences through another university's strengths and expertise.
Students may study abroad at one of MUIC's partner universities while earning credits toward their MUIC degree. Before departure, all proposed courses must receive academic approval to ensure that eligible credits earned during the exchange can be transferred toward the MUIC degree.

Every exchange journey begins with exploration. Browse this website to learn about the Outbound Exchange Program, partner universities, application requirements, and student experiences.
When you're ready, submit your application during one of MUIC's two Outbound Exchange application rounds each academic year. The student exchange unit of the International Affairs office is available whenever you need personalized guidance.
Current MUIC students can access ICAbroad, the Exchange Program Database, using their Mahidol account to explore detailed information on partner universities, review previously approved courses, compare destinations, and begin designing a study plan that matches their academic goals and interests.
Use your first year to explore partner universities, understand your major, and begin designing your exchange journey. Starting early gives you greater flexibility in choosing destinations, planning your studies, and may even allow you to experience more than one exchange destination during your time at MUIC.

Students who begin planning early often have greater flexibility in selecting destinations and designing an exchange experience that supports both their academic goals and future career aspirations.
Studying abroad is an important decision for both students and their families. The International Affairs Office offers Outbound Exchange Parent Information Sessions to provide an overview of the exchange process, academic planning, student support, safety, scholarships, and estimated living costs.
Preparing for an exchange is also part of a student's learning journey. From researching universities and planning courses to understanding visa requirements and preparing documents, students gradually develop independence, adaptability, responsibility, and problem-solving skills—qualities that will support them long after graduation. Families play an important role by encouraging students to take ownership of these processes while providing guidance and support along the way.
Parent Information Sessions are organized based on registrations and are typically held on the last Friday of each month. Registered participants will receive the session details once confirmed.
